Corey A Stewart, Managing Member
|Corey A. Stewart is the Managing Member of Stewart PLLC. Mr. Stewart has over 15 years of experience advising companies on international trade matters. He concentrates his practice on U.S export control laws and regulations and has extensive experience in advising companies on export compliance investigations, audits, voluntary disclosures, licensing and classifications. He also routinely conducts export control compliance training for large multinational corporations. |
Mr. Stewart counsels multinational companies on transactions that raise export compliance issues, such as foreign investment, international joint ventures, technology transfers to foreign employees, and re-exports by foreign affiliates. He develops export compliance programs, particularly for companies having multinational operations or ownership or employing foreign engineers and other foreign nationals.

Mr. Stewart has served as a featured speaker at numerous international trade seminars and conferences, and several of his articles have been published in trade journals. Mr. Stewart is quoted regularly in the Washington Post and other newspapers. Prior to forming Stewart PLLC, Mr. Stewart was Special Counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP, where his practice focused on export control and sanctions matters. Before that, Mr. Stewart was an international trade attorney with Gardner Carton & Douglas. He previously worked in the legal department of Alliant Techsystems, Inc., a defense contractor. Mr. Stewart has worked and studied in Sweden, Japan, Poland and Canada.
Education Mr. Stewart graduated from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service (BSFS, 1991) and William Mitchell College of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 1997). He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and is also admitted to practice in Minnesota.
